What’s New in the AHPRA Nursing Registration Pathway?
Starting from April 2025, NMBA’s new General Registration for Internationally Qualified Registered Nurses (IQRNs) will provide two structured pathways for nurses based on their education and work experience.
Pathway 1: For Nurses from Comparable Jurisdictions
If you have completed your nursing qualification or have held general registration from following countries, you may be eligible under Pathway
1. The approved countries include:
- United Kingdom
- Ireland
- United States
- Canada (British Columbia & Ontario)
- Singapore
- Spain
Pathway 2: For Nurses with Work Experience & Exam Credentials
If you have practiced at least 1,800 hours since January 2017 as a Registered Nurse in a comparable jurisdiction and successfully completed a nursing exam leading to registration in one of these countries, you may qualify for Pathway 2 but its also mandatory to hold a necessary qualification since 2017.
Both pathways require applicants to submit a portfolio with supporting documents to verify eligibility. Contact Eduint4u for a free consulting.
