Become a Registered Nurse in Ireland with Eduint4u

Ireland’s healthcare system is growing—and so is its need for qualified, competent, internationally educated nurses. If you’re a nurse seeking a rewarding career in a country known for its quality of life, world-class hospitals, and multicultural work environments, your first step is registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

At Eduint4u, we offer structured guidance and one-on-one support through every stage of your Ireland registration process—ensuring your documents, qualifications, and skills align with Irish nursing standards.

The Registration Journey with NMBI

To be registered as a nurse or midwife in Ireland, you’ll need to complete an application through NMBI’s overseas route. Here’s how the process unfolds:

1. Eligibility & Recognition of Qualification

NMBI will evaluate whether your nursing education is comparable to Irish standards. This step ensures your program covered appropriate theory, clinical hours, and professional competencies.

Required:

  • Transcripts of nursing education
  • Course syllabus
  • Clinical placement evidence
  • Nursing registration proof from your home country
  • Recent clinical experience

2. English Language Proficiency

If English is not your native language or the medium of your nursing education, you must submit valid language test results from:

  • IELTS Individual and Overall, 7.0 but accepts a score of 6.5 for any of the component
  • OET Individual and Overall B but accepts a score of C+ for any of the component

3. NMBI Assessment & Decision Letter

After document evaluation, the NMBI will issue one of the following:

  • Adaptation Program – Supervised practice in an Irish hospital
  • Aptitude Test – Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) to assess skills

What Happens After Registration?

Once you’re registered with NMBI:

  • You’re eligible to apply for job.
  • You may receive assistance for a Critical Skills Employment Permit
  • You can start the process for family reunification through a Work Visa after getting the RN licence.
